Community Support & Companionship

Out and about, together — with the right support by your side. Whether you’re building confidence, navigating new spaces, or just looking for a little company, we’re here to make community feel more accessible, safe, and fun.

Independence & Belonging

At BriighterCare, this support is about more than just going out — it’s about building confidence, independence, and real-life skills. Whether you’re navigating the world in a wheelchair, learning to process busy environments, or just want someone to enjoy everyday outings with — we’re here to walk alongside you.

This service blends social participation with capacity building. That means we can help you build practical skills for life: using public transport, reading signs, managing money, asking for help, understanding boundaries, and more. It’s learning, confidence, and connection — all wrapped into one.

How We Can Support You

Your support is always built around what you want to achieve. It may include:

  • Following public instructions (e.g. in shops, buses, train stations)

  • Building confidence in new or busy environments
  • Social skill-building and conversational practice
  • Trying new activities or community-based hobbies
  • Attending appointments, therapy, or social groups
  • Just having friendly company for a walk, a chat, or something fun
  • Supported volunteering or community group participation
  • Visiting shops, cafés, libraries, parks or events
  • Using public transport safely and independently
  • Handling money, making purchases, budgeting basics
  • Support to attend and participate in community-based therapies (e.g. hydrotherapy, physio, or art therapy sessions)
  • Understanding road safety and pedestrian awareness
  • Learning how to ask for help or interact with strangers safely
