Briighter Summer Quest

School’s out, adventure’s in! Every Wednesday of the summer school holidays, from 9am to 3pm, we head out on a fun, supported group day designed for children and teens with disability. Adults are welcome too, just get in touch. Small groups, familiar faces and a real adventure every week.

How the Summer Quest Works

Six Wednesdays, six themed adventures, one summer quest. Book one Wednesday or all six. Each day has its own adventure, and we list any entry cost up front so there are no surprises. Days start and finish at our Oran Park office (Suite 1.02, 90 Podium Way), and families join us from Narellan, Gregory Hills, Camden, Leppington, Campbelltown, Liverpool and nearby suburbs.

The Summer Quest is perfect for:

  • Children and teens with an NDIS plan (adults welcome, just ask)
  • Building confidence, friendships and independence
  • Families wanting a fun, reliable day of support each week of the holidays
  • New families, as well as current Briighter Care participants
  • Summer Quest Passport

Every Wednesday earns a stamp. Collect four stamps to win a Briighter Summer prize.

  • Make, Move, Meet

Every day has something to make, something active, and time to make friends.

  • Your Voice Counts

Participants vote on the theme of our end-of-summer party.

  • Calm Corner

Every outing has a quiet space and a calm kit, with a support worker ready if someone needs a break.

  • Ready, Set, Go

The night before each day, families get a message with photos of where we are going, so everyone knows what to expect.

  • Happy Snaps

A highlight from the day sent to families, with photos only where consent is given.

Your Summer Quest Passport

Every participant gets their own passport on their first day, with their photo on the front. Inside is a map of all six adventures and a stamp page to fill up each Wednesday (four stamps wins a Briighter Summer prize). On our final day, everyone receives a special Summer Quest award on the back page to take home.

Six Wednesdays, Six Adventures

Here is what each day looks like. Every day starts and finishes at our Oran Park office, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Book one Wednesday or all six.

On very hot days (35°C or more), we swap to an indoor plan and let families know by 5:00pm the day before. Times and entry costs are a guide, and we confirm them with you when you book. Briighter Care pays for support workers’ tickets.

How Costs Work

Support worker time may be claimable from your NDIS plan, depending on your plan and goals. Rates follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, and we confirm the rate with you before you book.

Shared support

Share a worker, halve the cost

Where two participants can share one support worker, the hourly cost is split between them, so each pays half.

One-to-one support

The full hourly rate

Participants who need their own support worker pay the full hourly rate, based on the level of support they need.

Activity costs

Entry, tickets and food

These are not NDIS supports, so families pay them. Briighter Care pays for our support workers’ tickets, so you only pay for the participant.

Summer Quest is designed for children and teens, but it isn’t just for kids. If you’re an adult who would love to join, please reach out.

  • New Families Welcome

You don’t need to be a current Briighter Care participant to join us.

  • Complex Needs Supported

Our CPI trained team supports people with complex needs, including those with a Behaviour Support Plan.

  • Small, Matched Groups

We match groups by age, support needs and interests so everyone feels comfortable.

  • Familiar Faces

We keep the same support workers with each participant wherever we can.

  • Shared Support Saves Funding

Where two participants share a support worker, the hourly cost is split between them.

Questions Families Ask

No. New families are welcome. We’ll have a short intake chat before the first day so we get to know the participant well.

Yes. We are registered for behaviour support, and our team implements Behaviour Support Plans written by your practitioner. We’ll go through it with you before the first day.

Support worker time may be claimable from your plan, depending on your goals and funding. Entry fees, tickets and food are paid by the participant or family. We’ll check the details with you before you book.

Each day above lists what to bring. Usually that is a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, a packed lunch, and a Companion Card or concession card if you have one. On water days, please also pack swimmers, a towel and spare clothes.

We do. Briighter Care pays for our support workers’ entry tickets, so you only pay for the participant’s entry.
