Thriving Kids, NDIS & What It Means for Families

If you’ve been hearing buzz about “Thriving Kids” and feeling a little unsure about what it means for your child’s NDIS support, take a deep breath. Change can feel confusing, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

Here’s the key takeaway: this is another option, not a replacement for the NDIS. Children and adults with ongoing, significant support needs will continue to access the NDIS, and families already on the Scheme won’t lose current supports overnight.

→ Formal diagnoses may not be required to access these services

→ The program is being introduced gradually, nationally available by 2028
